Had the opportunity to sit down with 2019 Allan Cup Champ Tyler Weiman. For most around the Lloydminster are this name should ring a bell, although its been a few years (ok maybe more than a few years) since he lived in Lloydminster, Weiman did suite up back in the day for the minor hockey program before going in the Bantam draft to Tri City Americans.
Since then he's played 14 years pro in North America, Europe & Asia. He was taken in the 2002 NHL entry draft 164th overall by the Colorado Avalanche and had the opportunity to see first hand the powerhouse the Avalanche use to be. Names like Sakic, Forsberg & Roy were present, but don't forget guys like Teemu Selanne & Paul Kariya (insert drool).
Had a blast hearing first hand his journey and don't worry this was only part 1
The future will see part 2.
